Bye Bye Best Buy

In reading Sunday's ads for the upcoming Black Friday sales, I took note of one that has my husband and I saying, "Bye Bye Best Buy".

They have decided in their ad, to wish all a "Happy Eid al-Adha", which is an Islamic holiday, but yet they will not allow anything that says "Christmas" in their ads, or for their employees to say "Merry Christmas".
And WHAT happened to Thanksgiving? A holiday that was started by our forefathers who came here to worship God Almighty, and gave HIM thanks for the opportunity to do so in a new land - free from the iron hand of government dictating to them.

According to Wikipedia:
Eid al-Adha (Arabic: عيد الأضحى‘Īdu l-’Aḍḥā) "Festival of Sacrifice" or "Greater Eid" is a holiday celebrated by Muslims (including the Druze) worldwide to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ismael as an act of obedience to God.

To SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT - Abraham fathered two sons - Ishamael, who is the father of the Arab(Muslim) world, and Isaac, who is the father of the Jews.
The Koran's teachings are FALSE when they say that Abraham offered up Ishmael in an act of obedience to the Lord. It was Isaac, who was the chosen son to which the Messiah would come through. It was Isaac, whom the Lord told Moses to sacrifice, and because of his obedience to the Lord, and His faithfulness, Isaac was spared.

Any company that shuns the Lord and His birth, but will allow their ads to give praise to Islam, no longer has my respect or another penny of our money!

Am I Politcally Correct? NOPE! Am I going to sit back quietly? NOPE!

What is UP with THIS?

Well this was news to me, as I'm sure it will be to many of you...
Seems as though the White House is going to allow the Chinese flag to be flown there on Sept. 20, with a ceremony and who knows what else..
Take the time to read this article:
China's national flag to go up in White House on Sept 20

Now I don't know about you......but this REALLY ticks me off to the core...
Since WHEN do we fly the flag of ANY other nation at our White House, much less, one from a COMMUNIST COUNTRY?

A Command to Submit

With today being the day our country has sworn in a new President, I am reminded in scripture that we must submit to those who are in authority over us, even if we do not agree with them fully on all the issues. It is not the person we are called to submit to, but the authoritative office in which they hold. Although I didn't cast my vote for Barack Obama, I have to be obedient to the Word of God, and it says in Romans 13:1
"Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God".
I do pray for President Obama, and that he will seek the Lord for godly wisdom and direction for our country.

2009 - Ch Ch Ch Ch Chang-es

We woke up to chilly weather this morning, and had to run a little heat, but knowing how the weather in Florida can be, we'll be more than likely running the air conditioning tomorrow! lol
I am excited to see what all God will put into my path in this new year! This coming Tuesday morning, I'll begin a ladies Bible study by Beth Moore, called "Esther - It's Hard Being a Woman". Ain't that the truth? I'm anxious to get started, and to meet some new women in my church and form more new friendships.
We've been told that 2009 will bring change - that can be good and bad at the same time, in my opinion. There are things in our country that I would like to see changed - there are many court battles over whether or not "One nation, under God" should be taken out of our pledge, which needs to stay put! Yesterday I heard on the news that an athiest group has filed a law suit against "so help me God" being removed from the inaugural swearing in. The group who is filing this suit says it doesn't want our country to be known as a country founded on Christian principles because that would mean we endorse God and a religion, but if we cave into their demands, we are following a religion of athiesm.
Our country was founded on Judeo-Christian principles, and never before in history have we seen such an uprising against those principles as we do now. We need to take a stand and let our voices be heard, and not sit back silently as those in the 50's and 60's did, when prayer in school was opposed and taken out. One woman's voice was raised and the nation sat back and let that one voice change our country forever.
I pray that in 2009, the Spirit of God will bring about a new revival and hunger for God in our country.
May your year be full of the riches and blessings from the Lord above!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

It seems like we were just ringing in 2008, but in a few short hours, this year will be just a memory.

As I look back on my life, I think about the events from this past year:

  • I turned 50!!!

  • My Sarah had her 7th "real" birthday on Feb. 29

  • Dude graduated from Basic Training

  • Bill and I were married 5 years

  • I quit my "real" job and am now staying at home to focus on my folk art

  • I was accepted into TDIPT

  • I started a blog

God has surely blessed me in so many ways! He's given me new friends, He's enabled me to share with you, teachings from His word, and I am so grateful for those blessings.

I so look forward to seeing what God is going to do in my life this coming year!

Happy New Year Y'all! :)

Blow the Trumpet

With the new year only days away, and many planning large celebrations, I wanted to share a bit about another celebration that is in the future of those who believe.
Today's passage is from the book of Joel, found in the Old Testament. It is one of the prophetic books and chapter 2:29 - 32
"I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.
Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days. I will show wonders in the heavens, and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.
And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved, for on Mount Zion and Jerusalem there will be deliverance, as the Lord has said, among the survivors whom the Lord calls".
Now I know that the references to some of the things the Lord has said will happen on the earth don't sound like something to celebrate, but they are signs that the Lord will soon return to this earth, and that IS something to celebrate!
Joel tells us back in the first verse of chapter 2, "Blow the trumpet in Zion; sound the alarm on my holy mountain". This is a call to believers to get the word out, that the time of the Lord is near.
People are searching for answers - looking for hope in these hard times the whole world is facing, and the answer can only be found in Jesus. He promises us that He will never leave us or forsake us, so we need not fear the strain on our economy, the wars all around us, or the strange and unexplainable things that we see happening in the weather all across the world.
All these things were foretold hundreds of years before Jesus was even born, and when he began his ministry at 30, he reiterated them many times.
I pray that the outpouring of his Spirit will be multiplied in 2009......it's time to wake up and stand up for what is right.
Happy last Sunday of 2008!

A Downward Spiral

I have been asking the Lord how to pray for our country. My heart has been so heavy, seeing how people are getting more and more violent; more and more humanist - wanting to remove God from everything; more and more outward publicly in their displays of all kinds of sexual goings on.
I was telling one of my sisters the other day, how I'm thankful that my dear Mamaws have already gone to Heaven, because if they saw just the advertising on TV, they would be in complete shock because they were raised that there were some things that one just doesn't speak about publicly.

We have had many cities who once displayed Nativity scenes on the lawns of city halls, libraries, etc., who have been taken to court and have had to remove them, because non-believers say they are offended, and don't want their children exposed to such things. Yet I don't hear about or see anyone standing up against the non-believers who have now taken out advertising on city buses not only nationwide, but worldwide.

I understand now, why Jeremiah was referred to as "The Weeping Prophet" - I too, have cried over the people of our great nation, and know that there will come a time when God's judgment will come.

My study today is from Jeremiah 7:14-20 -

"Therefore, what I did to Shiloh, I will now do to the house that bears my Name, the temple you trust in, the place I gave you and your fathers. I will thrust you from my presence, just as I did all your brothers, the people of Ephraim.

So do not pray for this people nor offer any plea or petition for them; do not plead with me, for I will not listen to you. Do you not see what they are doing in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? The children gather wood, the fathers light the fire, and the women knead the dough and make cakes of bread for the Queen of Heaven. They pour out drink offerings to other gods to provoke me to anger. But am I the one they are provoking? declares the Lord. Are they not rather harming themselves, to their own shame?

Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: 'My anger and my wrath will be poured out on this place, on man and beast, on the trees of the field and on the fruit of the ground, and it will burn and not be quenched".

The people were now including their children in their sinful behavior, making them go to gather wood in order to make cakes for the "Queen of Heaven". Who is this queen, you ask? It was a Babylonian goddess, Ishtar. Studies say that the cakes were probably made in her image.

When the law was given to the Israelites, the Lord spoke to them about how to raise their children. This is what he said in Deuteronomy 6: 4 - 9 "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is One. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorposts of your house".

They knew that the Lord had spoken these words, as Jewish tradition was handed down from one generation to the other. They turned from teaching their children as the Lord had instructed them to do, and were now incorporating them in their wicked ways.

Now in our present time, we have ungodly people who have become teachers in our schools, who want us to teach our children and grandchildren, that homosexuality is "normal" and should be tolerated. Anyone objecting to this is called close-minded, bigots, haters.

From what I've seen on the news lately, with the law not being passed to allow gay couples to marry, it's not the Christians who are acting out in hate or getting violent; it's these very people who preach "tolerance" and "acceptance" who are displaying such behavior.

My heart is heavy; I see my country in a downward spiral at an ever-increasing rate of speed. I see these new signs with Barack Obama's picture and the word "hope" above it. Sorry - he is not my hope. My HOPE is in the Lord Jesus, the ONLY one who can save us.

As I told a dear friend last night - the very last sentence of the Bible says this, "He who testifies to these things(Jesus) says, "Yes, I am coming soon." Amen. Come Lord Jesus. The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's people. Amen."

And So It Continues............

So this is the newest campaign by athiests - Just in time for Christmas!

"And now stop worrying, and enjoy your life"??????????????????

Another ad that's on buses from NYC to London and China also say, "Just be good, for goodness' sake".....

And we wonder why our world is in the condition it's in? The removal of God from any and everything is at an ever increasing rate of speed - and in my opinion, it's a downward spiral.....

Now I know even more so, why the Lord has taken me through the book of Jeremiah.......

Christian's Attacked by Gay Community

To go along with what I blogged on earlier today.....need I say more?

This is a story of a church in Michigan, who was attacked during service by radicals.....
This next link is from Palm Springs, CA, where gay protestors were at City Hall, and were being violent and verbally abusive to an elderly lady who is against gay marriage, and carried a cross with her, which was trampled by the angry crowd.
What has our world come to?

God is Still on the Throne

Needless to say, I'm disappointed in the choice our country has made for the high office of President. Am I surprised? Hardly.
I compare the speeches of Barack Obama to that of a preacher who stands in the pulpit and gives sermons that tickle the ears of those in the congregation in order to keep his pews full - he tells them what they want to hear, and they continue to go back each week, to hear the message that is soft and brings no conviction of sin.
So it is with the multitudes who hang onto every word that this man has uttered in his smoothe speech.
I choose to hang onto the Word of God, and the power behind his Word to bring about his will, and the one thing I have to keep reminding myself is this: God has always been, is, and always will be on the throne and is in total control of all things. He allows circumstances to occur in order for His will and His purpose to be carried out.
We can't see the whole picture as he does, and have to take comfort in the Truth - that He alone is God, and He alone is making circumstances fall into line all across the world, so His perfect and complete will is to be done.
There are many stories all throughout the Bible of people who have been in the roles of leaders, who were not men who sought God or his wisdom; men who were evil in their ways towards those who were believers. In all these situations, God protected and brought his people out. Sometimes his judgments fell on them, as we've seen in Jeremiah, because they chose to follow after ungodly things instead of the One True God.
Do I think our country is headed in that direction? Yes I do. Do I fear what could possibly happen? Not at all. I know that no matter what events might happen during Obama's term as President; no matter what judgments our country may face for their decisions to put into office those who don't value the laws or Word of God as the source of all wisdom and direction - I know that my Dear Father in Heaven watches over me, and everyone else who has chosen to follow Him as Lord.
If you are disheartened today, I leave you with this message of True HOPE -
Philippians 4: 6 "Don't be anxious, worried or fearful about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus".

Election Day 2008

Today is a pivotal time in our country, as history will be made no matter which candidate wins. Should God allow Barack Obama to win, it will be a first for a black man to take the high office of President; should God allow John McCain to win, it will be a first for a woman to have the office of VP.

As I've made known, my vote went to John McCain/Sarah Palin, based on their morals and strengths in experience with the military, foreign relations, and standing up for the innocent unborn babies; unlike Obama, who is in favor of partial birth abortions, and allowing babies who survive abortions to go without medical care to continue their lives; a man with no experience in leading anything, and he wants to be the leader of the greatest and most powerful country in the world?

Yesterday, the final verse of my study in Jeremiah 6 mentioned how everyone from the greatest to the least had turned greedy for grain (money); how even the priests and prophets practiced deceit.

Today I pick up with verse 14, which references back to those people, and what God has to say about them and their behavior.

Jeremiah 6: 14 - 17: "They (the priests) dress the wound of my people as though it were not serious. 'Peace, peace', they say, when there is no peace. Are they ashamed of their loathsome conduct? No, they have no shame at all; they do not even know how to blush. So they will fall among the fallen; they will be brought down when I punish them, says the Lord. This is what the Lord says, ' Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, ' We will not walk in it'. I appointed watchmen over you and said, ' Listen to the sound of the trumpet! But you said, ' We will not listen'".

The United States was founded by men who sought out the wisdom and direction of the Lord, as they penned out our Constitution and Declaration of Independence. Our laws were made with God's laws as their foundation. They looked to God and asked as it says above, "where is the good way so we can walk in it". Not so today - our leaders have no room or no time for God or his direction. And there are MANY who spout how devout they are in their Christian or Catholic faith, yet they support abortion. One who truly follows the Lord and has a relationship with him could not in any way say that to murder an unborn child would be ok in the eyes of the Lord. These leaders, like the priests in Judea, show no shame. Is this the kind of people you want to lead our country?

Today, we have strayed from the basics of these foundations, and we do hear "peace, peace", but there will be NO peace on this earth until the Lord Jesus himself, returns. He warned us to beware of those who say "peace, peace", while practicing sin and leading the people astray.

I pray for God's mercy to continue to our country who deserves his judgements, as he was pouring out on his people in Judea and Jerusalem. They too, had started off following God and obeying the laws He laid out for them, then turned their backs on Him, thinking that they could do a better job of leading themselves.

When you go to the polls today to cast your vote, I pray you will sincerely ask God for his wisdom and direction, and to make your voice as a Christian heard - to take a stand for what is good and what is right in the eyes of the Lord.

TOLERANCE??????????????

As I sit here sewing, I have Fox News on, and I am OUTRAGED at the last story that just aired.
My children were not allowed to pray or mention Jesus or anything related to Christianity when they were in school, and I just watched this report where in San Francisco, a 1st grade class DURING SCHOOL HOURS, were taken to City Hall, not for a tour or teaching about government, but to witness and shower with rose petals, their teacher and her lesbian partner at their wedding ceremony.
The two people they were interviewing on Fox were both defense attorneys and one said that there was nothing wrong with this, that it was teaching the children "tolerance", and that the earlier we teach them, the better they are to accept such things.
HELLO??????????????? We have people who can do this and call it "educational", we have people who can fight to get God's name out of our pledge, and children are made to learn about every other religion out there other than Christianity, but to even THINK about praying to Jesus, or to celebrate his birth at Christmas, or his death and resurrection at Easter is NOT "tolerable"?
SOMETHING IS SERIOUSLY WRONG HERE FOLKS!
God help us....with attitudes and mindsets like this in our country, we are surely setting ourselves up for all that I've been trying to show from the first four chapters of Jeremiah...God will not bless or have mercy on our land forever, if we continue to allow such things that are equal to spitting in his face.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's address the UN

I watched Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's address the UN today, and not a SINGLE news network is reporting on what I found to be the most revealing statements from this man.
He hates America and he hates Israel and the Jews, whom he refers to as Zionists. He has been quoted as saying that Israel needs to be wiped off the face of the earth.
This man leads a country(Iran) that Barack Obama has said is not a real threat to our country, and that he would like to sit down and have peaceful "talks" with.
His statements today not only were confirming his hatred of these two groups of people, but it's that last part of his speech where he kept referring to "the return of Imam Mahdi" that should open the eyes of anyone who is a believer and see that he has just told the world that he is working on ushering in what is referred to in the Bible as the anti-Christ. If you will take the time to read this link below, you will see that he even says that when Mahdi comes, he will rule the earth for 7 years before it's destroyed. They believe that this Imam Mahdi is a child who was dead in the year 941 and that he is going to return. The Bible is very clear that there is no such thing as reincarnation.
This was taken from his 2007 address to the UN:"Striving in this way to surrender rule to the righteous and Perfect Human, the Promised One, is indeed the final cure for the wounds of humanity, the solution of all problems, and the establishment of love, beauty, justice and a dignified life all over the world.
This belief and endeavor is the key to unity and the constructive interaction among nations, countries, the people of the world and all the true justice-seekers.
Without any doubt, the Promised One who is the ultimate Savior, together with Jesus Christ and other holy Saviors, will come. In the company of all believers, justice-seekers and benefactors, he will establish a bright future and fill the world with justice and beauty.
This is the promise of God; therefore it will be fulfilled.
Let's play a part in the fulfillment of all this glory and beauty."
Now are you going to tell me that this that I have put in italics above is NOT the message of one who is grooming the anti-Christ? It is evident to me and others who KNOW the real truth - that there is only ONE savior, and that is Jesus Christ.
Please read this link below which will further support what I am stating here in regards to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's belief and efforts to bring forth this tool of satan.
Iran leader's U.N. finale<br> reveals apocalyptic view
The Bible tells us that there will be a tribulation period of 7 years, when the anti-Christ will rule the world. This person I believe is already alive and being groomed to take this position. He is not a resurrected dead child from 941. He will be liked by the entire world, he will be well educated, carry a presence about him that will draw many. By his promises of peace on earth and persuasive speech, he will have many fall right into his trap, but as the time draws closer to the Lord Jesus and the armies of heaven coming back to defeat not only the anti-Christ, but his false witness as well, those who have chosen to follow this deceitful man of hate will have already taken his mark and will have lost their only chance for redemption from the true Lord - Jesus Christ.
I pray that you will read what he says and that you will ask the Lord to open your eyes to the REAL TRUTH, that can only be found in Jesus, not "Imam Mahdi", who was referred to as "The Perfect One", who will be coming to the world to bring peace to everyone.

If My People

There has been a verse in my head and heart that has been resonating for a while now, and I think it's very appropriate at this time in the United States, with our election drawing near.
It's from the Old Testament, the book of II Chronicles 7:14
"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, THEN will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land".
Our forefathers founded this country on Judeo-Christian principles, so in regard to that, I think where this verse says, "My people", could be applied to those of us who are believers in this great country, and I think we have strayed from them in so many of the laws and practices that our country has now ruled as "legal" and as "rights".
I think abortion is one of my top issues out of all the many important issues in our country. We allow millions of babies to be murdered each year. Who are we as the creation, to tell the Creator who "WE" think should live or die?
One political party says that women should have the "right" to choose whether the child inside of her lives or dies, and I say to them, what about the rights of that child? They can't speak up for themselves, so I, along with many others, try to speak out FOR them. In doing so, we are labled as being ignorant and passe in our thoughts. We are told that "times are a changin", and in my opinion, that doesn't mean it's GOOD - some changes are, but in this case, I just don't see ANY good in it at all.
I have many friends who are in the opposite party that I am, and we disagree on some of the issues, and on some of the candidates and their qualifications. I pray that those things we disagree on don't invade our friendships to the degree that it's harmful to them...

Have a great Tuesday

Sarah Palin Rally in The Villages, FL 09/21/08 - My Experiences

09/21/08 - We arrive at the parking area at The Villages at 7 a.m. to get in line for the Rally, which didn't start until 1:30, with Sarah Palin not expected to speak until 4:30.

The weather was nice and cool - a little foggy, which was nice for those of us who were the early birds and were lined up on the pavement at the entrance. The crowd didn't start getting very big until about 9 a.m., when the line we were in, began to wrap around the building we were in front of, and down the street.

Around 10:15 or so, a truck with metal detectors came, so we were told we had to move back until they had unloaded the truck and got everything in order. Many people were trying to crowd in at that time, to see what was going on, and to try to sneak into the line unnoticed. That didn't sit too well with everyone who had been there for hours holding their front of the line spots.

The woman who was in charge called over a Sumter Co. deputy and told him who all of us had been there all morning, and to let us go in first, after the volunteers and staff went in. As soon as he said, "Let's go", I ran up to the tables at the metal detector stands, where we had to take off our pins and such, then go through. I went through quick and easy, as I didn't take a bag or anything that they would have to search through. As soon as he said I was good to go, I RAN up to the area in front of the stage, and got Bill and I a front row - center spot! I couldn't believe that I was going to be standing right in front of Sarah as she spoke!

We were getting very crowded down in that area, and weren't able to leave to get food or water, because you couldn't get out, and you certainly couldn't get back in. That's when some of the officials and security began to hand out water bottles by the caseload. Several people where we were collapsed due to the extreme heat, and the EMT's had to climb over the guard rail in front of us to get to them for treatment.

We listened to some of our local and state candidates, then Aaron Tippen performed a few songs, and then FINALLY they announced, "Please welcome SARAH". The crowd began to absolutely roar, and I stood up on the railing to see if I could see her coming down the sidewalk yet. All I could see at first were the VERY tall Secret Service men lining the sidewalk. I caught a glimpse of her and Todd just before they were approaching the stage.

Piper, the youngest daughter, Willow, the second oldest daughter, Trig, the baby boy and Todd were all present. Willow was carrying Trig and held him for the first few minutes of introduction, then he was taken out of the heat while his mommy spoke to the crowd.

There was an electricity in the air that was almost touchable. Before Sarah began to speak, she said that her kids got to visit Disney the day before, and Piper wanted to say something. This little girl is NOT afraid to speak in public, and she confidently took the mike from her Mom and said, "Thank you for letting me be here today". The crowd cheered, and we could see that this little girl just might one day follow in her mommy's footsteps.

After giving an awesome speech, Sarah and the family made their way down the steps to autograph memorabilia and say hello to the crowd. I got my ticket ready, in case she stopped in front of me, so I could get an autograph.

Not only did she stop to autograph my ticket, but she saw my shirt that read, "ARMY MOM", and took my hands. I said, "Sarah - I'm praying for your boy". She gave my hands a squeeze and looked me right in the eyes and said, "And I will surely pray for yours too".
This is the back of my head - the one on the right with sunglasses, and that's my hand on her left arm as she was about to autograph my ticket.

She then proceeded to move down the line, then Piper was in front of me. I first asked her if she enjoyed Disney to which she said with a sparkle in her eye, "Yes ma'am, I sure did". I handed her my ticket, which she signed with her red Sharpie. Willow was next, who also signed my ticket, then Todd followed behind them. When he stopped in front of me, I told him that I'd just told Sarah that I was praying for their boy in Iraq, and he then too noticed my shirt and patted my left shoulder, and with a little squeeze, he said, "And Sarah and I will surely pray for yours too. Tell him Thank You and God Bless".

This was a day that Bill and I will never forget - a day for our grandchildren to know about - the first woman to be nominated in the Republican Party for the office of Vice President, and we got to hear her speak, and meet her face to face!

I was so incredibly blessed! Days before, when I knew we would be going to this event, I specifically prayed that the Lord would somehow allow me the opportunity to be able to tell Sarah that there was another Army MOM who was praying for her boy, and the Lord was so gracious to allow me that opportunity!

I pray your week is a great one!

I GOT MY TICKETS!

So I get up really early this morning, have my coffee and head out to The Villages, to get my tickets for the Sarah Palin event this Sunday. I knew they were going to start handing them out at 9:00 a.m., and so I thought if I got there by 8 - 8:15, I'd get in line fairly early - NOT!
OMG there were already close to 5000 people there lined up! Once the line started moving, it went quickly though. There were tables set up where we had to go sign our name, address, phone number and such and how many tickets we wanted. They limited each person to 4 tickets, and I got two; one for me and one for Bill.
This is just so exciting for me! This is historical that we have our first female in the Republican Party who has been nominated for Vice President, and who knows - maybe one day she'll step up the position of our first female President!
On my way home, I stopped by the Army recruiter's office to see if they had any "Proud Parent of an Army Solider" kinda stuff, and the Sgt. there said they were out, but would have bumper stickers and such next week. Well I kinda had a feeling that they wouldn't have anything like "ARMY MOM" t shirts or anything of the like, so I went by Wal-Mart and picked up two t shirts - one red, and another in Army drab brown, and a couple of packs of iron on letters so I can make myself a couple of shirts to support not only my son and the others who are so bravely serving our country, but for support for the Republican Party as well.
I really want to be able to get photos to post on here after the event Sunday, but after seeing how large the crowd was there this morning, I'm not sure if I'll be able to get close enough to get any decent shots.
For those of you who know me - you know I'm little, and can and have scooched my way to the front of the line many times at concerts and such...lol I can't see anything if anyone taller than 5'1" stands in front of me, and I'm a pretty determined woman - so time will tell if I'm once again able to make my way close to the front of an event that will be competely packed out!

Tragic Events in Our Country

My prayers today are with all those who are or have been in the path of Hurricane Ike.
Living in Florida for most of my life, we learn at an early age that one needs to always be prepared for tropical storms and hurricanes, and I've seen quite a few in my lifetime, but never have I seen such strong storms as we've seen in the last few years. How can one prepare for such a storm as this?
Some attribute things such as Ike to 'global warming', but it makes me think to the prophecies that Jesus told us about how things would get like towards what we call, "The End of the Age". Not only did he tell us that war and rumors of war would increase, but he also mentioned that weather patterns and the affects of them, would reak havoc, and would come with more and more intensity on a more frequent basis.

Then we hear while Ike is going on, that a commuter train in Los Angeles is hit head on by a freight train near a tunnel up by Chatsworth, killing 17 so far. The freight train "telescoped" into the commuter - meaning it went up inside of the oncoming train.
How tragic for those looking forward and waiting for their loved ones to come home as usual on a Friday afternoon.

We all have heard and are familiar with the saying, "you're never guaranteed tomorrow", and it's evident by the photos here. It's imperative that we make sure our loved ones know how much we love them - that we not only tell them, but show them our love. You never know if you are going to be impacted by sudden tragedy.

Make the most of each day - take time for God, and take time with your friends and loved ones...
