Purging Some of My Supplies n Things

Every now and then, I have to purge....no, I'm not making myself throw up after eating or anything crazy like that...
I just accumulate sooooooo much stuff, and I feel like I'm suffocating, so I'm going through my supplies and "what nots" that I find at thrift stores, etc., and putting them on Ebay.

The first item is a beautiful teal wool lap blanket. It only measures 27"x50", so it's got to either be a children's blanket or a cutter. I bought it because I just can't pass up a wool blanket when I see one, but then I got it home and nothing I make ever seems to incorporate this color....

Opening bid is only $4.99!

The second item I listed is this adorable little star shaped wire purse, which could be hung in a vanity or dressing area, or as one friend said, in a bathroom with soaps and other goodies.

Stay tuned....I'm just beginning to purge...lol
Who knows what all I'll find hidden away in one of my many storage boxes or hall closet?

Wool Bunny Wall Hanging

I have literally bags and bags of scraps of all kinds, but this year I accumulated more than an abundant supply of wool scraps, so I put some of them to use this past week. I've been working on this the last couple of days, when I need a break from sitting at the sewing machine.

My dear friend Lily, of French Country Chic, had done a bunny penny rug that inspired me in this one.

The background is a brown tweed like wool, with little pink flecks in it, so I took a scrap of this wonderful pink wool and some brown cotton floss to blanket stitch it on with.

More scraps of ivory, olive green and pink wool were used to make the flowers and vine with leaves.

I'm not sure if this is going to be something that I list anywhere, or if I'm going to save it as a baby shower gift for our worship leader's wife Jennifer, who is expecting a little girl in March. I need to see what colors she's doing the nursery in, and if this will work for her - I might have my gift already finished! :)

Thanks Lily, for your inspiration - I love ya big sistah! :)

Handsewn Wool Handbag Now Available

So I was sitting there watching tv with the hubby the other night, and most of you who know me, know that it's hard for me to NOT be doing something pretty much all the time, so I started by sewing two pieces of wool scraps together and decided it was too long and skinny for a penny rug, so I folded it in half, and immediately thought it would be the perfect size for a little handbag to take when running errands or whatever - you know, those times when you just do NOT want to lug around a big bag?!

It's entirely handsewn, and is made from vintage wool blankets, and has a vintage button used for it's snap closure.

I've got it listed on Ebay, and started the opening bid at a low $9.99. I figure with the way the economy is right now, people aren't even going to LOOK at something that's way out of their budget, so we'll see how well it does on there.

There are photos on the listing of the front and back of the bag, which both have 3 pennies, photos of the lining, and the snap closure.
Go ahead, take a peek! :)

If it does well, I'll make more....
Blessings,

Janelle
