Cock-a-Doodle-Do

Yep...it's another rooster! lol

I don't know why all of a sudden I wanted to make some of these critters, but here's my second of this year, and he's now listed on Ebay. Clicking on my link to the right side of the blog will take you to the listing, where you can see additional pics and a more detailed description.

He's made from vintage feed sack material that I've painted and done some stitching on....feather stitches no less! :)

Simple Times and Simple Joys

As I said in my post this morning about how I so enjoyed growing up in a time when things were more simple, I guess that kinda got stuck in my head, so today I just wanted to work on just some plain ole simple things.

I pulled out some nappy faux sheep's wool, some stained muslin, and some vintage feed sack, and finally found a use for these rusty old square nails! The farm animals are for sale on Etsy, and I put the simple doll on Ebay.

I'm thinking I need to find some kind of old spools or something similar in all my boxes of "stuff", and see if I can't come up with how to make some of these into pull toys.

Thanks for looking!

New on Ebay

I forgot to post a picture of the Santa on a Stick Horse that I put on Ebay yesterday.
My sweet hubby made the base of him, and mounted the horse into it for me; he loves helping me on my projects, and his workmanship is always top-notch!

Building Block Signs

With the economy so tight, I wanted to make some things that are affordable for everyone, and that can sit out year 'round.

I've made these little blocks, reminiscent of the ones I played with in my childhood, from 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" pine, and have painted, sanded, and stained them to give them a wonderful aged look.

They are available on my website at http://www.littlesistersdolls.com/. Each group of blocks will come with two sayings.

This one shown says, "OLD TOYS" in a barn red, and "WELCOME" in a dark, drab green.
I will be making more, with sayings like, "FAITH", "AMERICA", "FRIENDS", and who knows what else I'll come up with!

I will take orders for things such as family names, or a phrase or saying that's special to you.

A set of 7 blocks is only $9.99!

Just listed tonight on Ebay, this Americana Set - starting bid at $9.99

TDIPT's Winter Wonderland Launch

Coming November 2 - 9 - TDIPT's Ebay Launch - Winter Wonderland
Be sure you check out all the wonderful items offered by this group of highly talented women, who will offer their high-quality, unique handmade items.
Some of the items I'll be offering are:
  • whole forrest of snow tipped pine trees - sold in sets of (3)
  • 12" Traditional red/white Primitive Santas

  • A 30+" Snow Bunny, dressed in Vintage white chenille, and Vintage Dusty Pink Wool

I wanted to also mention that I also have been very busy making these little cinnamon ornies, which will I offer in shapes of stars and snowflakes. Some have been painted and sanded, then are dusted with German Glass Glitter, and some will come with their natural brown color, sprinkled with German Glass Glitter. The ones which are painted, have the appearance of vintage tin ornaments. Their hangers are natural raffia, and they come in sets of (3) and would look great on your Primitive decorated Christmas tree, or another great idea to use them for is to adorn the fronts of your gifts, instead of a traditional bow. I have these on my website at: http://www.littlesistersdolls.com/.
