What Child is This?

Today, our pastor started a new series for December titled, "What Child is This"?
The passage he's teaching from is Isaiah9: 6 - 7, and it is the prophecy of a child, "given to us", as our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace.
He pointed out that those two little words, "to us", shows that it is a personal gift from God to each one of us. It is up to us to each recieve his precious and perfect gift, as our salvation.
Take time this Christmas season to search the scriptures and see who this child was and is. He's not just some figure we set out each year in our displays of Christmas Nativities - he was and is God, who stepped out of Heaven and came to live on earth as a perfect man, in order that we might know him and his gift of becoming one of his beloved children by accepting this child - Jesus - as the savior of the world.
