As requested by Peanut, here is a recipe for some oatmeal cookies that are THE best I've ever eaten.

"KILLER OATMEAL RAISIN COOKIES"
2/3 C Shortening
2/3 C Butter
4 C Old Fashioned Oats
1 TSP Salt
1 TSP Baking Soda
1 C Chopped Nuts (I prefer walnuts)
1 C Raisins
1 1/2 C Flour
1 C Sugar
1 C Brown Sugar (Packed)
1 Egg (Large)
2 TSP Vanilla Extract

2/3 C Butter
4 C Old Fashioned Oats
1 TSP Salt
1 TSP Baking Soda
1 C Chopped Nuts (I prefer walnuts)
1 C Raisins
1 1/2 C Flour
1 C Sugar
1 C Brown Sugar (Packed)
1 Egg (Large)
2 TSP Vanilla Extract
- Mix shortening, butter, sugars, egg and vanilla
- Blend remaining ingredients and drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet (I prefer to use a well seasoned baking stone)
- Bake at 375 for 8 - 10 minutes
- Let cool on sheet for 2 minutes before moving to waxed paper to cool
- ENJOY!!!
