Judging Others

I know that I'm not the only one who sees and hears all the commercials and commentaries on tv where all these political figures and media journalists are doing everything they can to dig up "dirt" and saying negative things about the candidates, and it's more about the candidates character instead of what should be focused on, and that is the issues and how that person stands on them.
What bothers me about all this is that some of these who are so bent on tearing apart one's character say that they are "Good Catholics" or "Good Christians". Obviously, they haven't read today's passage, or if they have - they don't think it has importance or relevance to them.

Today's passage speaks to Christians who slander and judge one another. James 4: 11 - 12

"Brothers, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against his brother or judges him speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgement on it. There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you - who are you to judge your neighbor"?

What's it's saying is that the person who judges his brother disobeys the law, thus putting himself above it and treating it with contempt.

I pray your Wednesday is full of the grace and mercy of the Lord. And as the old hymn goes, "Count your blessings, name them one by one....Count your blessings see what God has done...Count your blessings, name them one by one.....Count your many blessings see what God has done".
