Christ's Character

After a few days of not blogging due to a neck injury, I am continuing today with my study in the book of Colossians, Chapter 1: 15 - 16

"He (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created; things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers, rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him".

John 1: 1-2 says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning". Verse 14 of the same chapter says, "The Word became flesh and dwelt among us".

Ephesians 1: 21 will give you an explanation of the section of the passage in Colossians where it mentions "rulers or authorities". This refers to the order of ranking of angels - demonic forces that are unseen to us, but are real and have influential power over people and also territories in our world.
Our creator stepped out of his Heavenly home and became our savior.

This is the simplicity of the Gospel - it's our choice to believe him or not. So many want to see signs and miracles before they will come to believe in anything, but Jesus said that those who believe without seeing are the ones who will inherit the Kingdom of God.

Examine your heart today, and if you haven't yet made the decision to allow Jesus to be your Lord and Savior, make today the day that you take God at his word. He will not let you down, but will give you a clean slate - a new life, and the hope of being with him for all eternity in Heaven, where there will be no more sorrow or tears, no more pain or suffering.

Have a blessed Tuesday.

Janelle
