Christian Growth

Today, I'm beginning a study from the NT, in the book of Colossians. The focus passage is from Chapter 1: 10 - 14.
"And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified your to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins".
Our lives are to reflect the living Spirit of God to an unsaved world. We will have times of difficulties, because we live in this world, but our attitude in how we handle things is what those who are seeking truth are looking at. We have the full power of His Holy Spirit living in us, and have to rely on this power to strengthen us, and give us a joyful outlook no matter what. That's not something we can work up on our own; we can't manipulate our emotions to imitate the true joy of the Lord, but if we sincerely seek him and his kingdom first - he will fill us to overflowing and strengthen our faith in his faithfulness.
He paid the ultimate price for us - we no longer are held in bondage of our sin - that was paid in full when he hung on the cross and took on the curse of sin on our behalf.
This TRUTH is what gives us as believers the will to carry on each and every day. It is the hope and anticipation of one day seeing Him face to face and living with Him for all eternity that is to be our strength and our testimony for others to see.
