A Command to Submit

With today being the day our country has sworn in a new President, I am reminded in scripture that we must submit to those who are in authority over us, even if we do not agree with them fully on all the issues. It is not the person we are called to submit to, but the authoritative office in which they hold. Although I didn't cast my vote for Barack Obama, I have to be obedient to the Word of God, and it says in Romans 13:1
"Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God".
I do pray for President Obama, and that he will seek the Lord for godly wisdom and direction for our country.

Do we submit even when decisions are made that are clearly against God's word? I read that scripture and know it is truth and yet I struggle.

Blessings,

Lea...we are to submit to the Lord, and to his Word. Always compare what God's Word says to what is before you -
