The Intercession of Jesus

Hebrews 7: 24 - 27 is the passage I'm focusing on today; it speaks of the priesthood of Jesus.
"But because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because always lives to intercede for them. Such a high priest meets our need - one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens. Unlike the other high priets, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once and for all when he offered himself".
Before Jesus took the place of being our high priest, men were appointed that position, and had to go into the Holy of Holies to present sacrifices to God for their sins, and the sins of the people. These men were Godly men, yet they were still sinners, so their role of priest was limited. Jesus, who was and is God in the flesh, lived a sinless life, offerered up himself as the atonement for the sins of all, and when he rose again, he was seated at the right hand of God, and is the ONLY one worthy of the title of High Priest.
It says that he is always interceding for us - imagine that - Jesus prays the perfect prayer for each of us continually!
His love towards us is so deep, that we can't comprehend it completely, but will one day "know as we are known". We will see him face to face in Heaven, and then we will then be able to fully comprehend the depth of his love for us.
If you don't know Jesus as your savior, your High Priest, you can change that right now - ask him to reveal himself to you - confess to him that you know you're a sinner who needs a savior, ask him to come into your life and make you clean, to give you a new beginning. He will meet you where you are, put his arms around you and pour out his love onto and IN you - and all Heaven will rejoice!

Have a blessed Friday, and a safe and peaceful weekend..

Janelle
