The Word Became Flesh

There are some who would say that Jesus was a good man, a good teacher, a prophet - but they deny that he was the Son of God, making him equal to God the Father.
The Bible says in John 1:1 - 5, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it".
Vs 14 goes on to say, "The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from The Father, full of grace and truth".
If we go back to the beginning, the book of Genesis, we can see the 3 fold part of God at creation. Chapter 1: 26 says," The God said, "Let US make man in OUR image, in OUR likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them".
I take the Word of God literally, and I believe where it says in 2 Timothy 2:16, " All Scripture is God-breathed, and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness".
So when it tells me that Jesus was with God in the beginning, and was part of the Creation, and that he came to live among us on earth - I believe it!
The grace and truth that he brought with him is the Spirit of God's nature - The Holy Spirit - the third part of the triune God. The Bible says that Jesus was created by The Holy Spirit; Luke 2: 35: "The Holy Spirit was come upon you, and the power of The Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called The Son of God".
I pray that if you've ever questioned or doubted the Diety of Christ, that you would read the Scriptures and ask the Lord to shine light into your heart to solidify the questions with the absolute truth - Jesus was and is God, and only in Him will you find eternal life.
Have a blessed Memorial Day, and remember to give thanks to God for the sacrifice that our soldiers made for our freedom in the United States, but more importantly - thank him for the sacrifice He made through Christ Jesus for our freedom from sin.
